You know those moments in life where you feel like you’re on top of the world? It’s not necessarily the moments where everything in your life seems to be perfect, but simply the feeling of being in control or heading in the right direction. It’s the sudden burst of inspiration that fuels your inner drive and hunger for a greater purpose. That’s the feeling you get when you’re 360 metres above Kuala Lumpur.
The observation deck on the 86th floor of one of the KLCC Petronas Twin Towers offers breathtaking views of Kuala Lumpur. At 451.9 metres the Petronas Twin Towers were the tallest skyscraper in the world from 1998 to 2004, so it quite literally feels like you are on top of the world. Well, on top of Malaysia at least.
I went there in December 2011, and although it was a rainy day, but it made the experience incredibly beautiful. Watching the rain droplets trickle down the glass against the gloomy grey sky was like being in a super hero movie. It was also pretty remarkable being parallel to the other Twin Tower. Whenever I visit KL, I would always stare up at the Petronas Twin Towers and feel so inferior. But this time, looking straight ahead at it made me feel quite powerful.
If you’re ever visiting Kuala Lumpur, I highly recommend you go for the experience. You also get to walk across the bridge that links the two towers together on the 42nd floor. Click here if you’d like more information.
